President Trump has signed an executive order for the withdrawal of the United States from the World Health Organisation

An executive order signed by President Trump on Monday states that the United States is withdrawing from the World Health Organisation (“WHO”) due to the organisation’s mishandling of the covid-19 pandemic, failure to adopt reforms, demands for unfairly onerous payments and lack of independence from member states’ influence.

The US will pause the transfer of funds, recall personnel and identify alternative partners to assume necessary activities previously undertaken by WHO.  The Secretary of State will immediately inform United Nations (“UN”) and WHO leadership of the withdrawal, and cease negotiations on WHO’s Pandemic Agreement and amendments to the International Health Regulations.

According to Reuters, the withdrawal process, which will take effect after a 12-month notice period, will end the US’s financial contributions to the WHO which amounts to approximately 22% of WHO’s mandatory country contributions. “The US departure is likely to put at risk programmes across the organisation, according to several experts both inside and outside the WHO,” Reuters said.

Reuters gave examples of WHO’s programmes as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and “other emergencies.”

If “other emergencies” include vaccinations against covid, for example, then stopping such programmes will save a lot of people from being harmed or killed.  It will be interesting to see whether, on balance, health across the world improves without WHO’s mass vaccination programmes.

While WHO has expressed regret over the US decision, and hopes that the country will reconsider and maintain its partnership with WHO, the news has been met with jubilation not only in America but across the world.

The many tens of millions, perhaps hundreds of millions, across the world who know how corrupt WHO is and what its nefarious aims are, are hoping that the US withdrawal will be the catalyst for their own countries to also withdraw from WHO.

Below are some reactions from Twitter users to the news.

Bye, Bye Paris Agreement

Withdrawing from WHO is not the only bit of good news for the world to come out of the White House on Monday. Among the many executive orders, were orders rescinding 78 executive actions implemented by the Biden administration and one to withdraw the US from the Paris Agreement.

President Trump also signed an executive order directing the US to withdraw the 2015 Paris climate agreement.  This is the second time he has done this.  President Trump initially withdrew the US from the Paris Agreement during his first term in office, but the Biden Administration re-joined it.

The Paris Agreement is driving many of the destructive policies we are all suffering from worldwide.  It uses the pretext of “fighting” a (fictitious) global warming emergency to coerce nations to implement climate change policies that are decided at a global level by a small group of bureaucrats who are selected, not elected, and are unaccountable to the public.

You can read Trump’s executive order HERE.  Unlike the withdrawal from WHO which could take 12 months to take effect, withdrawal from the Paris Agreement will be almost immediate.

“Language in Trump’s executive order said the US would consider the withdrawal to take effect ‘immediately’,” Politico said. “It didn’t mention the one-year notice period that the climate pact spells out.”

Indeed, the executive order states, “The United States Ambassador to the United Nations shall immediately submit formal written notification of the United States’ withdrawal from the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change … The United States will consider its withdrawal from the Agreement and any attendant obligations to be effective immediately upon this provision of notification.”

The move is part of a broader effort by the Trump Administration to roll back global climate policies and promote fossil fuel extraction and production.

“It is the policy of my Administration to put the interests of the United States and the American people first in the development and negotiation of any international agreements with the potential to damage or stifle the American economy,” the executive order states.

All countries should be making the same effort to roll back the UN’s climate policies and for the same reasons.  We should seize this opportunity to reclaim the sovereignty of our nations from the global oligarchs.
