A shocking video is making waves on social media, exposing the brutal reality of left-wing aggression: a Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) politician violently attacking a conservative Alternative for Germany (AfD) council member in a Hürth bar. This disturbing act of unprovoked violence, captured in full view, exposes the escalating hatred and physical hostility not from the right, as the media repeatedly claims, but from left-wing ideologues and their enablers.
The altercation, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday in North Rhine-Westphalia, shows SPD district council member Lukas Gottschalk physically assaulting Norbert Raatz, an AfD council member (pictured below).
The footage, published on the AfD Hürth’s Telegram channel, reveals Gottschalk hurling insults like “Nazi pig” before shoving Raatz against a counter, kicking him, and delivering multiple blows to his face. The vicious attack left Raatz with bruises and a mild traumatic brain injury.
Hatred Turned Violent: A Left-Wing Assault on Democracy
The AfD Hürth responded unequivocally, denouncing the attack as an assault not only on one of their members but on democratic principles themselves. In their statement on Telegram titled “Angriff auf Norbert Raatz – Angriff auf die Demokratie” (“Attack on Norbert Raatz – Attack on Democracy”), they highlighted the growing hostility their party faces:
“A hatred stoked against our party for years is now bearing fruit locally as well. On the early Saturday morning before the 4th Advent, there was a violent attack on our party colleague and treasurer of our district association, Norbert Raatz, a council member for the AfD in the Hürth city council.”
The statement directly names the aggressor as SPD district council member Lukas Gottschalk and stresses that Raatz posed no threat to anyone:
At no time did our party colleague Norbert Raatz pose a danger to anyone; he attacked no one. On the contrary: he remained extremely professional and calm. The aggressor, as has been seen repeatedly in public, is our political opponent, in this case a 31-year-old SPD functionary.”
